About The Role

Veeam is seeking a skilled Backend Developer to join the Veeam Data Cloud (VDC) engineering team. This role focuses on building the FedRAMP-compliant version of Veeam’s SaaS product. As part of a distributed team, you’ll work with modern technologies like containers, serverless infrastructure, and cloud-native services on AWS, Azure, or GCP. Your goal will be to design secure, scalable microservices that align with strict compliance and performance standards for government customers.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop highly reliable and scalable SaaS microservices using public cloud services
  • Ensure that code is thoroughly tested, secure, and FedRAMP-compliant
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for production operations
  • Take ownership of the reliability and performance of deployed services
  • Engage in technical design discussions and perform code reviews
  • Collaborate with engineers across distributed teams to deliver secure and compliant features

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in the software development industry
  • Proven experience designing and deploying SaaS or large-scale services on Azure, AWS, or GCP
  • Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Go, Java, Scala, or Rust
  • Strong experience with event-driven architectures
  • Ability to develop, test, and debug scalable, production-quality systems
  • Deep knowledge of computer science fundamentals, including algorithms and data structures
  • Familiarity with compliance requirements, including security controls and audit processes

Preferred

  • Experience with FedRAMP or similar compliance frameworks
  • Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration tools
  • Background in the data protection industry
