Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Backend Developer to architect and implement the server-side components of our investment platform. This role will focus on creating robust APIs, integrating with financial systems, and ensuring data security and compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience with Node.js backend development and integrating React applications with server-side technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop scalable backend services and APIs to support our investment platform
  • Implement secure authentication and authorization systems for financial transactions
  • Create and maintain database schemas and models
  • Develop integration points with payment gateways, banking systems, and other financial services
  • Implement data validation, security measures, and error handling
  • Design and develop the server-side logic for investment pooling mechanisms
  • Build reusable code and libraries for future use
  • Optimize application for maximum performance and scalability
  • Implement automated testing and deployment pipelines
  • Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and security standards

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 4+ years of professional experience in backend development
  • 3+ years of experience with Node.js and Express.js
  • Strong knowledge of React.js ecosystem and how it integrates with backend services
  • Experience with database design and ORM libraries (MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Sequelize, Mongoose)
  • Proficiency in implementing RESTful APIs and GraphQL
  • Experience with authentication and authorization mechanisms (JWT, OAuth)
  • Knowledge of security best practices for financial applications
  • Experience with version control systems (Git)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with financial or investment platforms
  • Knowledge of TypeScript
  • Experience with microservices architecture
  • Familiarity with serverless architectures (AWS Lambda, Vercel)
  • Experience with real-time communication using WebSockets
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements for financial applications
  • Experience with performance optimization and scaling
