Graphic Designer - Education
Safal Partners is seeking a highly skilled and flexible Graphic Designer with strong expertise in 508 Compliance to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with design tools such as PowerPoint, Word, and Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) with a strong understanding of 508 accessibility standards. You will be responsible for creating visually compelling, clear, and accessible designs for a variety of projects while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency. This role demands a keen eye for design, flexibility in working across various platforms, and the ability to collaborate with teams to meet project deadlines. Instructional design is a bonus.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Design Support
Training Materials & Presentation Design:
Design and support the creation of materials for training sessions, including PowerPoint decks, flyers, process guides, handouts, and other deliverables.
Ensure PowerPoint decks are designed to enhance visual clarity, audience engagement, and ease of understanding.
Apply consistent branding, color schemes, and typography in alignment with TEA and Safal style guidelines.
Incorporate visual aids, icons, infographics, and charts to support key concepts and data points.
Format materials for both digital and print distribution, ensuring accessibility and readability.
Ad Hoc Graphic Design Support:
Provide ad hoc graphic design modifications as requested, ensuring designs are in line with TEA and Safal branding guidelines.
Adjust graphics, charts, and visual elements for accessibility and readability, ensuring compliance with Section 508 accessibility standards.
508 Compliance & Accessibility
Accessibility Review & Support:
Ensure all designed materials meet Section 508 accessibility standards, including proper color contrast, alt text, and other accessibility requirements.
Collaborate with 508 compliance experts to ensure visual elements meet accessibility guidelines.
Make visual adjustments to ensure designs are both visually appealing and accessible for all users, including those with disabilities.
Collaboration & Communication
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with project managers, training leads, copy editors, graphic designers, and 508 compliance specialists to understand design needs and project timelines.
Actively participate in project meetings to provide input on design needs, timelines, and feedback.
Respond promptly to design revision requests and feedback, ensuring designs meet quality and accessibility standards.
Provide status updates on design progress, challenges, and delivery timelines.
Feedback & Iteration:
Provide two rounds of revisions for each deliverable, ensuring designs meet project requirements and branding guidelines.
Deliver final designs in the required formats, organized, and labeled appropriately.
Ensure all designs adhere to project requirements, quality standards, and branding guidelines.
Tools and Technology
Design Tools Expertise:
Utilize PowerPoint and Word for presentation and document design, ensuring high-quality, visually engaging materials.
Use Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) to design print and digital media assets.
Ensure design tools are used effectively to create visually compelling, clear, and accessible designs.
Adaptability & Flexibility
Work in a Fast-Paced Environment:
Adapt to changing project priorities, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
Respond quickly to urgent requests and shifting priorities, ensuring high-quality work is delivered on time.
Show initiative by taking ownership of design tasks and ensuring all necessary resources and information are obtained to meet deadlines.

Job-Type: 1099, part-time hourly employee
