Job Summary:

Clever Inc. is on a mission to connect every student to a world of learning through their identity platform for education. As a Software Engineer on the App Partner Integration team, you will work on the Secure Sync product to facilitate seamless access to digital learning tools, collaborating across teams to build features that enhance user experience and data control for school districts.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Product Management, Design and Marketing to research, design, and code major new features and enhancements that will best engage, educate, and delight educators
  • Develop and lead new features like fast and intuitive UIs, Go microservices, and application rest APIs to give districts control over the data they share with each application
  • Be an important part of Clever's ecosystem of engineering excellence as we strive to create both the best possible customer experiences and top quality internal architectures across all of our products and initiatives
  • Understand and prioritize the Clever engineering culture - see our blog post on Defining Clever's Engineering Culture
  • Participate in team on-call rotation. Shifts are one full week every ~7 weeks. Primarily working during business hours to respond to customer requests, but may require off hours incident responses
  • Work across the stack - Clever has a microservice container-based architecture and is hosted entirely on AWS. We use Go for backend services, with Node, TypeScript, and React for frontend services and DynamoDB, Mongo, and S3 for databases and storage

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 2+ years of experience as a full-stack Software Engineer
  • Led small projects and collaborated with a team to create meaningful impact
  • Architected solutions to solve a variety of product and data needs
  • Strong fundamentals in computer science and software engineering
  • An appreciation of code simplicity, performance and maintainability
  • The drive to learn and teach through collaboration and code reviews
