Job Summary:

As a Junior Software Development Engineer in the Sawatch team, you will contribute to the design and development of fleet electrification products and reporting tools, working across the stack to enhance product functionality and user experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Traverse the whole stack: Build and maintain database structures, models (energy models, charge event models), REST API and product interfaces.
  • Build out new features in real time, in response to client feedback.
  • Collaborate across the analysis, business development, and software development teams to identify additional features and capabilities to expand our software offerings.
  • Engage with clients throughout the process to ensure client-driven product development.
  • Provide subject-matter expertise on fleet electrification and transportation sustainability.
  • Debug and troubleshoot issues, reduce technical debt, write and maintain testing suites.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 2-5 years of professional software development experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering/related field or equivalent experience.
  • Strong programming skills in both Python and JavaScript (or similar).
  • Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL or similar), and RESTful APIs.
  • Understanding of Agile development practices.
  • Interest in the electric vehicle transition, and a data-driven approach to decision making.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills.
  • A detail-oriented approach, and the ability to work autonomously on moderately complex features.

Preferred:

  • Experience implementing UI/UX designs.
  • Experience working on a small, driven team.
